To empower pre-health students through meaningful service, accessible shadowing, and professional development — creating a clearer, more equitable path to healthcare careers while strengthening the communities we serve.
A More Equitable Path to a Future in Healthcare
We’re creating a future where all students — no matter their background — have the tools, access, and support to pursue careers in healthcare and service.
Our constellation of chapters is growing, and with it, so is the impact we’re making in communities across the country.
Many students feel unsure where to start — overwhelmed by scattered resources, unclear pathways, and lack of connections.
We built PHC to change that.
By connecting students directly with local organizations, professional opportunities, and a supportive national network, we help every member grow through real experience, not guesswork.
Volunteer with Local Nonprofits & Clinics
Try out diverse service experiences — from health-related causes to broader community impact — through PHC-organized events and partnerships.
Explore Careers Through Shadowing & Events
Gain insight into different healthcare fields through in-person shadowing, speaker panels, and Q&As with professionals across medicine, nursing, public health, and more.
Join a National Network of Chapters
Collaborate with peers on your campus and beyond. Each chapter fosters community, leadership, and access to professional development opportunities.
Pre-Health Constellation was founded by Mia Bucich, a 2024 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned her B.A. in Italian with a minor in Biology. Mia created PHC to be the resource and community she wished she had as an underclassman.
With no family in healthcare and no personal connections in the field, she entered pre-health completely on her own — and like many students, spent countless hours cold emailing doctors, digging through scattered websites, and chasing opportunities that felt just out of reach. She saw firsthand how much time and energy this took away from what actually matters: growing into a well-rounded, passionate future healthcare professional.
Mia founded PHC as a student organization at Ohio State to help others in the same boat — and after its overwhelming success, she turned it into a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Today, while working full-time as a research specialist at the Center for Discovery and Innovation of Hackensack Meridian Health, Mia continues to lead PHC with the same mission it was built on: making healthcare exploration more accessible, community-oriented, and empowering for every student.
